Only inside the beltway

"Members of Congress are eligible for a pension at age 62 if they have completed at least 5 years of service, or at any age after completing at least 25 years of service. The amount of the pension depends on the number of years of service and the average of the highest 3 years of salary."

That means that if you are elected to the Senate for one term you will receive a pension. For 5 years of "service."

Do you know of any other job where you get a pension after only 5 years?

Vote Republican and save the world

This is what Bush’s moronic “good intentions” have gotten us. This is what a Republican majority has done for us. Gives me great hope for the future.

"If we can't pass this legislation and Medicare moves forward and funds recreational sex drugs for seniors, then what couldn't we fund with the taxpayers' dollars?"

If social security is such a great thing...

why are we forced to participate in it?
